Service To The Environment

Environmental protection is an integral part of Dannex’s business operations and community activity. We maintain a global operation for identifying and handling our environmental footprint.

We are committed to:

  • Developing wastewater treatment systems
  • Expanding the use of alternative energy sources
  • Limiting energy consumption
  • Conserving scarce water resources
  • Managing air emissions

We raise environmental awareness among our employees, by conducting extensive training at all levels, performing site audits and publishing an annual Environmental Objectives Plan. Additionally, all our plants, offices and facilities comply with local environmental laws and regulations, which address various aspects of Environmental Management.

A Safe Work Environment

Work environment: Dannex’s biological labs enforce safe work environments and follow Good Biological Practices (GBP) in accordance with local laws and regulations. Good Biological Practices include:

  • Decontamination
  • Sterilization
  • Applying engineering controls
  • Using personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
  • Training lab personnel

Assessments & monitoring: we conduct on going management audits, environment-oriented customer surveys and systematic environmental audits. We also perform periodic monitoring of air emissions and wastewater discharge.

Serving the Community

Dannex is committed to improving healthcare. We recognize our responsibility to invest in and support the communities we serve.

We focus our involvement in the community in the country in which we operate, through a range of activities which enhance access to medicines and contribute to the wellbeing of the communities in which we live.

There are two dimensions of community activity at Dannex:

  • Partnerships, in which Dannex forms an alliance with local leading non-profit organizations to advance social causes, supported by specific community solidarity activities.
  • Donations, through which Dannex supports many different non-profit organizations and community programs in Ghana through cash donations and donations in-kind (products, equipment and services).

Employees’ Safety

Dannex cares about its employees' safety and strives to be one of the safest companies in the pharmaceutical industry.  We are continuously working to improve, by instilling a strong safety culture. Our goal is to achieve a zero accident rate, through our rigorous compliance with safety standards.

Dannex invests a great deal of effort and resources to guarantee our employees' safety. We take active measures to ensure that our safety culture is adopted. Our main safety activities include:

  • Strict follow-up on annual safety work plans
  • Audits conducted by independent bodies as well as in-house teams, each involving a large number of employees.
  • Job Safety Analysis (JSA) of safety-related issues of each and every workstation, with the participation of the employees.
  • Periodic Safety forums and conferences held regularly.
  • Risk Management and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) plans incorporated into working procedures, serve as both preventive measures and a means to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Safety training held at each site according to predefined training procedures and training work plans. Both employees and managers participate in direct safety training.
